Adopting a new technology - as we see it in the automotive industry with its shift to zero carbon - requires not only new components and products to be manufactured in high volume, but also adaptation of whole supply chains and ecosystems.

During the HyDIME project, HSSMI conducted a techno-economic assessment of the HyDIME system being installed in Orkney and identified potential threats of the system as well as opportunities to scale and replicate the it across the UK.

Working with our Circular Economy team, Andy came across ‘Future Fashion Factory’, a £5.4 million R&D partnership exploring and developing new digital and advanced textile technologies to boost the design of high-value creative products.

At HSSMI we develop interactive digital maintenance manuals that combine machine information with 3D CAD data to aid maintenance engineers on the shop floor. The eManual integrates 3DPDF features with multiple data sources.

Since beginning in 2012, HSSMI has evolved as an organisation and is looking to further its work supporting manufacturers across the UK. Today we are proud to release our new brand and along with it, our new strategy to tackle the biggest challenges affecting the manufacturing sector.

In light of the recently published GBA report "A Vision for a Sustainable Battery Value Chain in 2030", I sat down with HSSMI experts to discuss their thoughts on the report, the current state of batteries in the UK and where we can go from here.
