We are delighted to announce that Ray Mills will join the HSSMI team in January 2021 on a part time basis as Technical Specialist in Manufacturing Strategy. Ray brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from the automotive sector, having worked for over 40 years across major OEMS.

Circular economy is one of the three pillars that underpin the work we do at HSSMI and has naturally led to an initiative to identify our carbon footprint and achieve Net Zero. Our first Net Zero report represents an exciting next step in our journey towards increased sustainability and resilience.

HSSMI has recently become a member of Make UK, the established voice of manufacturers across the UK, and is excited to be joining a community of over 5,000 businesses. HSSMI and Make UK have been discussing areas of potential future collaboration.

HSSMI has supported Ford Motor Company to accelerate the scale up of ventilator production by developing a series of 3D, digitally animated work instructions using 3D PDF, which enabled operators to be trained remotely under the constraints of social distancing.

Here we present a comprehensive list of the resources we explored in our social media campaign "Bouncing Back after the Pandemic". We believe manufacturers can take inspiration and some ideas from these documents on what measures to implement and how once they are ready to reopen their factories.

Like many other businesses across the UK, we are heeding the advice of the UK Government and prioritising the safety of our staff and customers during the Corona virus pandemic. As such, we will be limiting physical contact with our customers and colleagues over the next few weeks.
