A consortium of 21 forward-thinking institutions from nine European countries have joined forces to innovate and deploy concepts for repurposing and scaling up flexible and sustainable production methods and supply chain solutions to rapidly address Europe’s demand for essential medical equipment

In the new ReGaIL project, HSSMI will work together with S2S Electronics (lead partner), Envaqua, E.C. Williams, the Institute of Material Finishing (IMF), and Recolight, to develop a recovery process for gallium from bulk sourced end-of-life (EoL) LED products.

HSSMI is continuing its partnership with AMTE Power and exploring opportunities to enhance the UK’s battery cell manufacturing capability. Over the next five months, HSSMI will undertake a feasibility study to explore ways of increasing the productivity of AMTE Power’s existing facility.

HSSMI is a partner in the recently announced PET Full Loop project. Together with Veolia, Unilever and Charpak, HSSMI will seek to improve the state of recycling in the UK by developing the country’s first dual PET bottle and tray recycling facility over the next three years.
